What is JEBUS?
JEBUS was an idea that sparked up between my friend Bailey and I, when we were about 13 years old. A silly drawing made up in study hall that managed to carry its way through our adolescent years and transform into what you see today.
Bailey pushed me to start skating around that same time, as I was new to the group and the only one who didn't. I remember it was a birthday party at Talent (Skatepark) that had me hooked. I spent most of it watching everyone else and knew I had to have my own asap.
The following years we were skating every moment possible, filming little edits on my old JVC with friends. We all just wanted to do what the pros we watched were doing. I was always fascinated by all the different board graphics, especially when the new mags or catalogues would come in-those took up most of my school day. My dad had hooked me up with a laptop, Photoshop and Vegas burned on it to edit and I taught myself from there. Needless to say it had my undivided attention and when it came time to figure out what's after High School, JEBUS was the only thing that made sense to me.
When the Saranac Lake Skatepark opened in 2015, I attended and filmed the first contest where I met Broyce who became our first rider. My friend Nick Mahoney, a very talented artist, created our first line of graphics based off the original apple concept(Stained Glass Series) and we started ordering samples.
It was finally in 2018, when I decided to officially launch JEBUS Skateboards with Broyce, Evan and Zach on the team. Zach Hockey flew onto my radar from a few trips with Broyce as they were both from Tupper Lake, we became good friends and shortly after asked him to join our project. Evan Davis was someone I had already looked up to for quite some time, from my first skate video premier being his video Thunder Road, all of the Plattsburgh edits and then to see him constantly ripping around the SL Park, his attitude towards skateboarding itself made him the perfect fit for our team.
The idea has always been to create an opportunity in an area like ours where skateboarding has lacked such, to encourage my friends to keep pushing no matter what hardships we face, turning that energy into creativity and understanding that we all share something very special.
JEBUS is my mark in the Skateboarding World, even if it comes from the tiniest corner of the woods, we will continue to provide quality boards with endless nonsense.
